ARAKAN MONSOON
A feature-length documentary by Maung Sun
Returning from exile, a filmmaker reunites with his sister in Myanmar’s Rakhine State, one of the regions most ravaged by civil war. She is the last practicing gynecologist-obstetrician. Together, they try to preserve their fragile “nest,” a family, a home, caught between violent bombings, military repression, and devastating monsoon storms.
